What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a special format that can be read by RSS Readers.

RSS allows web sites to write information called RSS Feeds that you can pull straight into an RSS Reader, so you don't have to keep checking all your favourite sites for new information - the information comes to you.

How do I get an RSS Reader?

There are lots of RSS Readers, or News Readers as they're also known. Some are free and some you will have to pay for. Some integrate into your web browser or e-mail, and some are separate programs. The best thing to do is put "rss reader" or "news reader" into your favourite search engine and click on a few links.

What's Holcombe offering?

Our RSS Feeds will deliver news, club bulletins, social event listings, fixtures and results.

Below are the RSS Feeds that you can add to your list of feeds:
 News
 Club Bulletins
 Social Events
 Fixtures
 Results

Some RSS Readers allow you to drag the RSS icon into the software program, which then adds it to you list of feeds automatically. If your reader requires you to type in the address of the feed click on the icon or text above and copy the address from the address bar (include http://) and paste it into your reader. The help on your reader software should be able to give some more information if you get stuck.

Please note: Holcombe Hockey Club do not offer support for any third party software.

This is a new offering by Holcombe HC so if you find it useful or have any problems please complete our Feedback Form and your questions/comments will be passed to the appropriate person.
