UPDATE - Kit Proposal

Following a short period of review, various members of the club contacted the committee with comment on the proposal. Chairman David South has requested that some of the feedback and committee response be published. #*_Email from Mark Newman to the committee:-# I thought that the decision made at the AGM was that the first team would be playing in the same kit as the rest of the club next season, not the other way around! Why are we changing the kit of twelve teams to conform to one team? does it not make more sense to change one team to conform to the rest? If this is all to do with our current kit being hard to get hold of then you might want to make that a known fact. This might well stop club members from objecting to the idea of changing twelve teams instead of just one! Mark Newman #*_Email from David South to Mark Newman on behalf of the committee:-# Mark , Thank you for your E-mail 21 / 7 / 04 regarding proposed kit change which has been passed to me to respond. You are quite correct a major part of the decision making process was driven by the fact that the current shirt is a special and is not only hard to get hold of ( long deliveries and minimum quantity issues ) but it is also of a lesser quality than our away strip black shirt which seems to be liked by all members . On reflection it would have been better had we made that clear in our web - site bulletin. With some considerable specific shirt sponsorship coming this season because of our promotion to the National League and Gill Griffiths Companies generosity, it gave the Committee a one off , relatively low cost option to the membership , chance to deal with the issues mentioned above of the current shirt and the point raised at the A.G.M. of the first eleven's shirt being the same as the rest of the Club . I trust this answers your queries and explains the Committees decision. Regards David M South
