Ladies Training Update for Season 2005-2006.
July 5, 2005 - 01:00
Having reviewed the set up of the Ladies training schedules during last season, the Coaching Committee in conjunction with the Ladies Committee have had a number of discussions and have agreed a training strategy for the coming season, details of which are noted below. We have recognised that whilst we have generally achieved success across the Ladies Section, we have identified certain areas where greater achievement is necessary if we are to develop a more integrated Ladies Section. The strategy for the coming season has been developed to ensue that we achieve greater success in certain areas. Primarily, we are keen to ensure that, as far as practically possible, all Ladies training will be run on one pitch on one night. This will provide all Captains and Coaches with the ability to identify promising players that potentially should progress upwards through the teams and will encourage more fluidity throughout the section. This target is to ensure that all players are playing for the appropriate team and are encouraged to develop their game accordingly. We will also be encouraging greater integration by involving the Coaches of the various team groups in player selection, particularly with regards to player promotion, in order to ensure that players that are regularly showing promise are rewarded for their training as well as playing performances. For this to occur appropriate Coaches will be appointed and, where possible, senior players at the top end of the Ladies Section will be encouraged to help supplement the team group Coaches during training sessions. The agreed training strategy for the coming season is as follows: All Ladies training is to be held on a Thursday evening: 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Ladies 4th & 5th Teams (1/2 pitch with appointed Coach). 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Ladies 2nd & 3rd Teams (1/2 pitch with appointed Coach). 8:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Ladies 1st Team Squad (full pitch with appointed Coach).
