RIP Nigel Williams UPDATED

Please read the following message from Alison Baker:

It is with sorrow that I inform members of the death of my brother-in-law, Nigel Williams. Nigel played regularly for Holcs until he moved to Gosport for work reasons, but he always took a keen interest in Holcs and would occasionally call in to watch a match if he was in the area. Although Nigel had been in ill health in recent months his death was still unexpected. The family would appreciate it if members who are still in touch with ex-players who knew Nigel could kindly let them know. Thank you.

Our thoughts and wishes are obviously with the family #incredibleholcs

Many thanks Jon Rye (Club Chairman)

Nigel Williams was a very active member of the hockey community across Hampshire and Kent we felt it necessary to contact all relevant clubs and organisation to allow people who knew or played sport with him the opportunity to pay their respects.

Nigel was chairman and played for the 1898’s at Gosport Borough Hockey Club. He also trained with many players who have now moved on to other nearby clubs within the south Hampshire region. Prior to this Nigel also played for Hamble Hockey Club.

Nigel’s partner’s sister has good links still with Holcombe where Nigel played until 1988. However we are sending the full funeral details through via this email to ensure everyone has the relevant information.
