M1XI Update

We are delighted to officially announce the arrival of new players to Holcombe Men's 1XI team for the 2018/19 season.

RICHARD CURTIS

  • Age: 24
  • Position: Goalkeeper
  • Plays for the South African Indoor and Outdoor National Teams.
  • Tournaments Attended: U21 Junior World Cup in India, 2013 / 2015 and 2018 Indoor World Cups in Germany / World League Semi-finals 2017
  • Love coffee and music, Hip Hop to be specific.
  • Lifetime goals of representing South Africa at the Olympic Games in the near future, and playing at the EHL (hopefully with Holcombe very soon!!)

LOUIS DUPREZ

  • Age: 22
  • Position: Defence
  • For the last two seasons I have been playing in Paris for Racing Club De France, winning the French championship and the league. I have represented the French U21 team in Russia and played in the EHL this year in Rotterdam. I have come back to England to finish my degree in sports coaching and I am excited to be playing in the Premier League again with such a great and ambitious team.

ZACH MASON

  • Age: 18
  • Playing for Holcombe Hockey Club as been the motivation for the last year, and I am so privileged to be here.
  • Grew up in Dunedin a southern city in New Zealand. Played for the regional southern pups and prem side - Kings United Hockey club.
  • Looking forward to playing for Holcombe this season.

ALEX MOEN

  • Age: 18
  • Position: Defender
  • Joined this year from Marden Russets HC. Starting at Cambridge University this month. Enjoy travelling and exploring new places, strongly dislike swimming!
  • Hope to establish myself in the team this year, then push for England recognition in the future.

ANTON PARENTE VARELA

  • Age: 25
  • Position: Midfielder
  • Profession: Industrial Design Engineer
  • Coming from Club de Campo in Madrid, Spain, he has played EHL and playoffs of the Spanish League, in the last 5 seasons. 
  • In addition to this, he has participated in World Cup U21 in India (2013), European U21 in Den Bosch (2012) and Waterloo (2014) and European U18 Utrecht (2011). 
  • He has also been a silver medallist at the Spanish Indoor Championship 3 times too.
