Gareth Andrew nets his 200th National League goal
March 4, 2017 - 10:04
Congratulations to Gareth (Gaz) Andrew who netted his 200th National League goal last Saturday at Holcombe Park against Loughborough. Gaz has scored 63 National League goals as an #incredibleholc.
The Hockey Paper reported this week:
"I didn't think I would ever score this many goals" said Andrew, who turns 36 at the end of April. "And I didn;t think I would still be playing at this age so I am proud of myself to be able to still play at this level."
"My Dad has been following my goalscoring on FixturesLive and told me at the start of the season that I needed eight more for 200 so I knew that was it when I scored."
"I had a couple of drinks to celebrate when I got home but there won't be anything major until the end of the season." And the reason why Andrew did not hang aroud in Rochester to have a pint with his team-mates ws beacuse for every home and midweek training session he faces a roud trip of 230 miles from Peterborough where he lives and manages a big sports club.
We wish Gaz all the best for his 201st goal tomorrow against Brooklands MU, 1400 at Holcombe Park.
