EHCT Call out for Volunteers

The countdown is definintely on and tomorrow marks the 'Three Months To Go' milestone. Our EuroHockey Club Trophy event website is now live in readiness for the call out for Volunteers and Sponsors.

Quite a few members have already put their hands up to volunteer and for that we are grateful. We are expecting a volunteer team of 60-100 people over the weekend from a mix of club members, Medway Sporting Ambassadors and England Hockey Hockey Makers.

Please take a look through the Volunteer pages on the Event Website, look at the volunteer roles, and submit an application if you wish to be involved. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to speak with Mark Newman or myself, or another member of the Operations Board (Emma Allchorne, Alison Baker, Brian Field, Carmel Sutton, Gary Wellings).

We are still very much in the 'finalising plans' stage, and in time, we will be hosting a 'briefing' for all Club Members to give you an insight into the event.

Many thanks Jon Rye (Club Chairman)

Media Release for EuroHockey Club Trophy (Women) 2019 – Call out for Volunteers and Sponsors

Three months to go before European Hockey takes place on English ‘synthetic soil’. Holcombe Hockey Club will host the EuroHockey Club Trophy (Women) 2019 over the Easter weekend and is looking for volunteers to help make the event a success.

The hockey equivalent of the UEFA Europa League will be the first time that Holcombe HC has hosted a European Hockey Federation tournament and is relishing the challenge of the organisation.

Jon Rye, Club Chairman, said “As a volunteer-led facility and Hockey Club, we know that volunteers play a vital role in sport and this will be true when we host the EuroHockey Club Trophy. It is a wonderful opportunity to bring European hockey to Medway and there are a real variety of volunteer roles available.”

“The volunteer roles available at the EuroHockey Club Trophy offer something for everyone, including back of house, public facing and pitch side opportunities.  Volunteers must be 16+ and will be provided with a volunteer top, meals and refreshments during the event.”

“Not only do we have opportunities for volunteers, but Holcombe is looking for businesses and organisations to sponsor the event. The sponsorship opportunities include title sponsorship through to banner advertising, available for small and medium enterprise to regional, national and international companies.”

The hosts, who won the Club Trophy in 2018, will be joined by Spain’s Club Campo Villa de Madrid, Ireland’s UCD Ladies HC and Belarus’ HC Victoryia Smolevichi. The line up is completed by Belgium’s Waterloo Ducks HC, Edinburgh University HC from Scotland, Ukraine’s MSC Sumchanka and Dinamo-COP Moscomsport from Russia.

More information about the event, volunteer roles, and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the Event website www.holcombe-ehct.info. Tickets will go on sale next month.
