Mike Rudd’s journey to winning a place in the England over 55 Squad began in 1969 when he started to play Hockey at School as a fifteen year old. He played for Rochester and Gillingham until he was 18 when he gave up hockey to join the Merchant Navy. After a break of 17 years he rejoined Rochester and Gillingham and when the merger of Old Holcombeans, Templers and R & G took place in 2000 he started to play for Holcombe Hockey Club.
