Match Report:
Holcombe’s push for the East Premiership title continued with a resounding 10-1 win against Saffron Waldon. The visitors took an early lead which was the wake up call Holcombe needed. Megan Robertson equalised and this was followed up by Jennie Hoyte hitting the target to give Holcombe the lead. Holcombe then got into their stride and continued to dominate with goals from Leigh Bierman and Robertson completing her hat trick before half-time.
The second half started much the same with Holcombe penetrating the Saffron Waldon ‘D’. Lauren Osborn was next on the score sheet, closely followed by Lauren Martin who popped up on the post to slot home before adding a solo effort in the top right hand corner. Holcombe’s defence were kept on their toes by a series of counter attacks with Vanessa Lines and goalkeeper Jackie Gray preventing the visitors adding anymore goals. Hoyte and Robertson, with a goal each, completed the rout but Holcombe know there are tougher games ahead in their push for promotion.
